Loyalty program pricing in 2026: what does it cost?
Dokun Team ·
How are loyalty programs priced?
Most tools use one of three models, or a mix. Which one is cheaper for you depends on how your business grows:
- Per location: a fixed monthly fee per branch. However many customers you add, the bill stays the same. The easiest to forecast for a single busy shop.
- Per customer: one price up to a certain number of registered or active customers, a higher price above it. Cheap at the start, more expensive the better the program works.
- Per notification quota: a set number of push messages, texts or emails is included and the rest costs extra. If you send lots of campaigns, the bill can swing.
Some tools add a per-transaction commission, a setup fee or a 12-month minimum term. Price every quote with the same scenario: your customer count today, your expected count in a year and how many campaigns you want to send each month.
How much does a digital loyalty program cost in 2026?
There's no single market price; plans and models differ a lot. As a rough guide: list prices for tools in Europe are usually around €20–160 a month (November 2026). The low end usually means one card type and manual campaigns; the high end adds automation, multiple branches and integrations.
Check whether prices include tax, which currency they're in and whether they're per location or per account. Those details change comparisons quickly.
Treat this range as a direction, not a comparison. Get current prices from the tools you're considering and add the hidden costs below.
Should you pay monthly or yearly?
Yearly billing is discounted with most tools; in return you commit for a year. The right choice depends on how sure you are that the program will stick in your business.
- Start monthly if the tool is new to you and you don't yet know how staff and customers will react.
- Switch to yearly once it has run for a few months, works smoothly at the counter and your measurements look good.
- With yearly billing, ask about cancellation and refunds: what happens to the remaining months?
- Check whether a "monthly" plan actually hides a 12-month minimum term.
Costs that don't show up in the list price
The surprise is rarely in the plan fee; it's in the items around it. Ask about each one in the quote:
- Text messages: if campaigns go out by SMS, there's often a per-message charge on top. Tools that use Wallet notifications or email keep this item smaller.
- Printed cards and QR material: plastic cards, table cards, posters, stickers. Some tools include a first set; with others, design and printing are on you.
- POS integration: even when one exists, there may be setup, license or developer costs.
- Setup and training: some tools charge a one-time setup fee.
- Staff time: each transaction takes seconds, but it adds up on busy days. A slow flow is a hidden cost.
- The reward itself: the free coffee or discount is the biggest variable cost. Count it at what it costs you, not at menu price.
Is a paper stamp card really free?
Paper cards look cheap, but they aren't free. The numbers below are examples, not taken from a real business; swap in your own print prices:
- Example: you hand out 300 new cards a month and each costs ₺2 to print. That's ₺600 a month.
- Example: the stamp and ink pad get replaced a few times a year.
- Costs you can't see: lost cards, copied stamps, no way to reach customers who stopped coming and no idea who your real regulars are.
The biggest weakness of paper isn't the cost; it's the missing data. You can't remind someone who stopped coming. For a step-by-step switch, see from paper stamp card to digital.
How do you weigh the cost against revenue?
A price isn't expensive or cheap on its own; it only makes sense next to the extra profit. A simple check:
- Write down the total monthly cost: plan fee + text messages + printing + what the rewards cost you.
- Estimate the extra visits the program brings and multiply by your average ticket.
- Turn the extra revenue into extra profit using your gross margin.
- If the extra profit is larger than the total cost, the program pays for itself.

What does Dokun cost?
Dokun is priced per location, in Turkish lira; there's no per-customer pricing, no commission and no minimum term. Current list prices:
- Starter: ₺399 per location per month. 1 location, 2 staff, stamp or points card, 5 manual campaigns a month, print-ready QR kit.
- Growth: ₺799 per location per month. Up to 3 locations, 10 staff, automatic campaigns, birthday and welcome bonuses, Wallet notifications, 30 campaigns a month; loading session packs, extending memberships and topping up balances.
- Pro: ₺1,499 per location per month. Up to 20 locations, 50 staff, unlimited campaigns, API and webhooks.
With yearly billing you pay for 10 months and get 2 free: Starter ₺3,990, Growth ₺7,990, Pro ₺14,990 (per location, per year). That works out to about ₺333, ₺666 and ₺1,249 a month.
Because pricing is per location, it multiplies with your branches. Example: a business with 3 branches on Growth pays 3 × ₺799 = ₺2,397 a month, or 3 × ₺7,990 = ₺23,970 a year. On paid plans, your first print pack (5 laminated table cards, 1 A4 poster, 2 stickers) comes from Dokun, shipping included.
Which plan fits which business?
When choosing, look at the feature you need first and the price second:
- A single-location barber or a small cafe can start with a stamp card and the odd campaign; Starter covers that.
- If you want to win back lapsed customers automatically, give birthday bonuses or load session packs and balances, you need Growth.
- A multi-branch restaurant group or a business that wants to connect its own software fits Pro.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a digital loyalty program cost per month?
It varies a lot by tool and model. List prices for tools in Europe are usually around €20–160 a month (November 2026). Dokun costs ₺399, ₺799 or ₺1,499 per location per month across its three plans.
Is per-location or per-customer pricing cheaper?
If you start with few customers, per-customer pricing can look cheap at first but gets more expensive as the program grows. With per-location pricing, your customer count doesn't change the bill; it only rises when you open a branch.
Is yearly billing worth it?
With most tools it's cheaper. With Dokun, yearly billing means you pay for 10 months and get 2 free. If you're not yet sure the program will work for you, start monthly and switch later.
What are the hidden costs of a loyalty program?
The most often overlooked are text message fees, printed cards and QR material, POS integration, setup fees, staff time and the rewards themselves. Ask about each one separately in the quote.
When does the program pay for itself?
When the extra profit it brings is larger than the plan fee and reward cost combined. Run the numbers with the formula in the ROI guide and start measuring during the trial.
