How do you set up a loyalty program in a restaurant?
A good restaurant loyalty program fits lunch and dinner guests on one card, ties the reward to a goal guests see while waiting for the bill, and adds only a few seconds at payment. Get those three right and guests plan their next visit on their own.
How many visits for a reward?
In a restaurant the bill varies a lot: a quick lunch menu and a big dinner do not deserve the same stamp. That is why a points card that gives points by amount spent is usually fairer. If your menu sits in a narrow price range, one stamp per visit is the simpler choice.
Example (all numbers are examples only): say an average lunch bill is ₺400 and a dinner bill is ₺1,200. At 1 point per ₺100, a lunch regular who comes 8 times a month collects about 32 points, and a family that comes for dinner twice a month collects 24. With two reward tiers, such as dessert at 40 points and a main course at 100, both groups see their first reward within one or two months.
Count the reward at your kitchen cost, not the menu price. The full calculation is in the loyalty ROI guide.
Campaign ideas for restaurants
- Weeknight evenings: if Tuesday and Wednesday nights are quiet, set double points from 6 to 9 pm on those days. The busy weekend needs no extra push.
- Birthdays and special occasions: use the birthday bonus to offer a dessert that week. People who celebrate in a restaurant usually bring a few others.
- Refer a friend: give bonus points to customers who recommend the card and bring a new guest to the table.
- Win-back: a regular who has not come in for a month gets a short lock-screen note ("We miss you, your points are waiting on your card").
- New menu announcement: when the seasonal menu changes, tell only customers who gave marketing consent. Automated and scheduled campaigns are in the Growth and Pro plans.
The flow at the table and the till
The best moment in a restaurant is the few minutes after the meal while everyone waits for the bill. The guest scans the QR on the table with their phone camera and the card is added to Apple Wallet. When the bill arrives, the waiter or cashier scans the card's QR and the points are added.
- Put the QR table card on every table next to the bill folder, and hang an A4 poster at the entrance.
- Give the waiter one line: "If you scan the QR on the table while you wait, you'll earn points for this meal."
- For pickup orders, scan the card at handover. If you don't meet the customer at handover, you can't scan the card.
- Open a separate staff account for each waiter and cashier. The dashboard shows who scanned how many cards.

FAQ
Frequently asked
Stamps or points, which fits better?
If the bill amount varies, points work better; if menu prices are close, stamps are simpler. You can try both.
I have several branches. Can they share one card?
Yes. On the Growth and Pro plans all branches share the same card.
One person pays for a big table. Who gets the points?
The simplest rule is to add the points to the card of the person who pays. Others at the table can add their own card and start collecting on their next visit. A welcome bonus for new cards turns big tables into new customers.
What if waiters forget to offer the card?
The table card works on its own, but the waiter's one line makes the difference. With a separate staff account for each waiter, the dashboard shows who scanned how many cards, so you can talk to the shift that lags behind. The cafe loyalty card page shows a similar table flow.
Does my customer need to download an app?
No. The customer scans the QR with the phone camera and the card is added straight to Apple Wallet. On Android it opens as a saveable page in the browser.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
On iPhone the card goes into Apple Wallet. On Android it works as a saveable browser page (stamping by QR is the same). On both, the phone's own camera reads the QR.
