Frequently asked questions
What is a Place ID and where do I find it?
The Place ID is the unique code Google gives every business (it starts with "ChIJ…"). Search for your business in Google's Place ID Finder to get it. The "ask for reviews" link in your Google Business Profile (g.page/r/…) works too.
Does a QR code get me more reviews?
When customers scan at checkout or while they are happy, they are much more likely to leave a review, because there are fewer steps. Keep the QR visible at the till, on receipts and tables, but do not offer discounts or gifts in return for reviews: Google policy forbids it.
Where should I print the QR code?
On the counter, table cards, receipts, bags or the shop window. Print it at least 3×3 cm with high contrast so phone cameras read it from a distance.
Does the QR code expire?
No. The code contains your Google review address directly and keeps working as long as that address does. Since nothing is sent to a server, you can regenerate it as often as you like.
